Registry Utilities Pro Review:
Ease of Use
Registry Utilities Pro is very easy to use; it is a registry cleaner that does not require you to understand the intricate workings of the Windows registry. It is as simple as clicking “scan” in the navigational menu, and then clicking on the “scan now” button. This button is big and green, and thus hard to miss. It will scan for errors itself and you can select a number of them, or click "fix all." Unlike some other cleaners on the market, Registry Utilities Pro gives you a very clear and detailed report after it has completed its scan. This is especially informative if you are interested in learning more about how the Windows registry works because it gives a detailed explanation about each error. It is also interesting to see how some software's uninstaller programs leave certain registry entries behind.
It also comes with several other features such as an ActiveX Disabler and a startup manager, but these options are best suited for those individuals who know what they are doing in these programs. It is good that Registry Utilities Pro has included these programs, but if you are an inexperienced Windows user, it is highly recommend you do not play around with these settings.
Registry Utilities Pro promises to repair a slow running PC and to be easy to use with fast results. It also promises to have an easy to use interface that does not require you to be an expert at Windows to repair your registry. It does most of what it promises and you will certainly notice an improvement in your boot time, especially if you have been running the same version of Windows for more than a few months. With the errors it found removed it took a few seconds off the original boot time of 40 seconds. However, there is no noticeable difference in running daily programs after cleaning the registry. This means that at least on the test computer, the only thing affected by this program in terms of speed, was the time it took to boot the computer.
One of the drawbacks to Registry Utilities Pro is the fact that it certainly is not one of the fastest products on the market. You are going to want to turn it on, let it do its job and walk away from the computer for a while. One final drawback is that when compared to other products on the market, Registry Utilities Pro does not catch every registry problem. Some of its competitors find quite a few more issues when running a registry test. On a computer that had 180 registry errors added, it missed as many as 50+ errors. A rather shocking 28% of errors that Registry Utilities Pro missed while it ran a system scan. Especially at its price range, it should be able to find these issues.
